My cat has two red raised pimple-like bumps in front of his ear where there is little fur, what could this be?
How big are these? Is your cat scratching them?
Reply to Lori's Post: They are round and about 1/8 of an inch or so diam., fairly small and slightly raised, one is way smaller. Light red color. I have not yet noticed him scratching them, but he seems a little uncomfortable when I run my finger over them.
Is this the only cat in the household? If so, does your cat go outside?
It could be something as simple as a hypersensitivity reaction to a mosquito bite. It's hard to tell without seeing them. I would just watch them for a while and see if they get worse. It isn't an emergency. You can also try to put a tiny bit of 1% hydrocortisone lotion like you buy at the drugstore (Cortaid) on it to see if that reduces the swelling.
