Hi there! It is crucial to get this fever down ASAP. Under the arm is cooler than rectally, so your cat's real temperature may be higher than 105. If the temperature reaches 107, there could be extreme lifetime damage to your cat's brain.
Immediately get wet towels and wrap your cat in them. Take rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball and soak all four paws and the abdomen, as this will lower the temperature.
Something is definitely causing a fever of this multitude, most likely a severe infection. Your cat could be in serious danger with a temperature this high. He needs to get to a veterinarian as soon as possible. If you can not get to a veterinarian tonight, continually monitor the temperature, at least every half hour until the temperature is down to 103 and maintains at 103 for a full hour. Then you can lessen the monitoring to every hour to two hours. If you have a digital thermometer, it would be most acurate to get his temperature rectally. Be sure to use ky jelly or the like so that you will not tear the tender rectal tissue. Keep your cat's paws alcoholed and keep the wet towels around him until you can get to your vet's office. If your cat's temperature reaches 102, you can stop putting alcohol on his paws and take off the wet towels, but continue to monitor to ensure that the temperature will not increase to dangerous levels.
I hope this helps,
