Customer Question

Are you aware of any therapeutic value for Vitamin E against the neural symptoms of Marek's disease in 16 week old pullets ? If so, what level do you recommend in water treatment?

While a vitamin E deficiency could potentially look like Marek's, avian encephalomyelitis, encephalomalacia, Newcastle's disease, and a vitamin B1 deficiency, we don't know of any value for vitaimin E when addressing Marek's disease. There should be adequate vitamin E in a high quality pullet diet. Adding a balanced vitamin supplement to your birds' water shouldn't be necessary but wouldn't be harmful when restricted to a few weeks. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
