I have a red-headed conure, aprox 15 yrs old....discovered

Customer Question

I have a red-headed conure, aprox 15 yrs old....discovered her slumped & limp on the bottom of her cage. She stepped onto my finger when requested. I discovered her water bowl was empty & refilled it. She drank ALOT from her perch. I had to leave for a few hrs & when I returned, found her face & head down in her food bowl. I thought she was dead, then saw shallow breathing. I've been holding her & trying to give her drops of water. Can't tell how much she drank vs. what ended up on my shirt. She seems alittle more alert, but does not move. I have her sitting on a pillow with my arm around it & also switch to holding her. When I hold her, I use 1 hand & put a finger under each wing, supporting her head.
Is this dehydration or something else? What else shld I do? PLEASE tell me: What are my chances she'll survive tonite?

I'm sorry that your question wasn't answered in a timely manner. We don't have many avian vets on this site. You described a critically ill conure and I would be surprised and pleased if you were able to pull her through. Please giv eme an update on her if you wish.
