Greetings, I am Dr. Pat. I have worked with birds for many years. I will do my best to help you.

There are many viruses and bacterial infections that happen in finches. He may have pus developing under the lids.

The best thing would be to take the whole family to the vet for testing and treatment.

For now, drip fresh new artificial tears onto the eye areas and massage gently. How old are the babies, and are the eyes open on the others?

Customer replied 675 days ago.

yes the parents are fine, its just on one baby, both eyes are swollen shut and its top eyelids its so swollen its bulging out significantly

its just a fledgling, they just left the nest in the past day or two. i cannot confirm 100% if the eyes were open before because its the first time i seen it, i havnt been looking in thier nest while they were younger. also i just checked the bird out and it seems she has a hole under her eye in the neck area, not sure if another bird pecked her or whats its from.
