Hello,

It's wonderful that you're concerned enough to research before feeding the birds. The oats shouldn't cause a problem. Only certain species will enjoy them, however, so it would be best to mix them in with other seeds and grains. There are a number of recipes for homemade suet that call for rolled oats, so that would be another way to use them. More species might eat the oats if you soften them a bit in some warm water before putting them out for the birds.
