Hello,

Budgies don't show signs of pregnancy. There won't be any weight gain, or anything else out of the ordinary. They just lay eggs when they're ready. Females will lay infertile eggs, even when no male is present. Egg-laying can cause problems. If you see your bird straining or sitting with her legs apart, or if a bulge develops on her abdomen or the vent, your bird may be in trouble. These types of things are emergencies. if you have more questions about this, just let me know by clicking on REPLY.
