My cockatiel is almost 7 years old. She has developed a black spot on the tip of her beak. It seemed to get lighter, but now I have noticed another dark spot above the first. Please advise.
Optional Information: Age: 7; Female; Breed: cockatiel
HiCustomer
Discolorations in the beak can be caused by trauma or nutritional issues. I am a littel worried that what you are noticing may actually be bruising in the beak. Causes of this can include liver problems and nutritional deficiencies.
I definitely recommend a consult with your regular avian veterinarian to have your bird thoroughly evaluated. Please let me know if you need assistance in locating an avian veterinarian in your area.

Hi Kyan, Can you tell me where you are located, and how far you are willing to travel (only in case there isn't someone close to you). You can also go to the avian veterinary website and use the vet directory at www. aav.org. Dr. Kris
I will check out that website. Thanks so much.
