Last year I had a cyst removed from the outside corner of my left eye. I soon noticed that I could not see out of the left side of my glasses. I soon realized the location of my eye is totally different, I am horrifed everytime I look in the mirror. What can I do?
Optional Information: Country relating to Question: United States State (if USA): Texas Already Tried: well I recently went back to the clinic, was told by a doctor, yes he could see my eye was too high and not to wear my glasses so much, just for reading, and come back in a few months.
You need to consider getting another medical opinion, which would be necessary to determine whether or not the doctor who performed the removal did so in a competent or negligent manner. You only have 2 years from the surgery to file a malpractice suit. See: Tex. Civ. Prac. & Rem. Code. § 74.251(a).Also, under Texas law, within 120 days of you filing a malpractice claim you must provide expert reports addressing the issues of liability and causation for each physician or health care provider against whom a claim is asserted. Tex. Civ. Prac. & Rem. Code. § 74.351.Thus, you need to go to another doctor for examination to determine whether or not there was something done by the first doctor that was negligent.
