Customer Question

My 2 year old took about 2mg (I had prepped a 2.5 syringe for her older brother for his cough) - turned to get him a glass of water and she had taken just about all of it. I've seen online that's within a 'normal' dose for her weight 29.5 lbs - I just don't normally give her cough supressants due to her age. Anything I should look out for? Thank you

Just to confirm-

Did she take 2 mg or 2 ml of dextromethorphan?

Customer: replied 11 days ago.
Sorry, 2ml
Expert:  Dr. Su S. replied 11 days ago.

Thank you for the input.
2 ml contains 12 mg. of dextromethorphan.
If needed, we usually prescribe 2.5 to 7.5 mg per dose.
Though she has taken more than the recommended dose, it has not crossed the total daily dose limit.
She can be drowsy, feel a little dizzy.
Please keep an eye on her.
She should not have any major side effect.
I hope this information will be helpful.
