Pin worm can cause itching but may not always produce symptoms.
Other worms usually do not cause itching or other symptoms.
Tape test usually detects pin worm but it may need repeated test to confirm.
Stool, blood test for antibody can be taken.
Worm should be treated but it is not an emergency.
You should make an appointment with his doctor to make plan for further test.

You can watch till she has symptoms or sees worms.Tap test or stool tests are for confirmation.It may not cause symptoms as I wrote before & complications are usually not serious.
