Thank you for the input.From his history, it is likely due to a viral infection.Symptoms can vary.
Stool can be formed then get loose.99-100 is not very high temperature.You can wait & watch.Viral infection usually subsides by 4-5 days, sometimes prolong though.Usually supportive measures are needed.Please give him plenty of fluid to keep good hydration.Pedialyte can be given.Tylenol is good to control fever.Ibuprofen can be given as well.However, I would recommend to get him examined if the symptoms continue or if the diarrhea gets worse.

Virus infection is usually self limited.
It can go away & come back for a while & then subside.
If the temperature gets high like 103 he will need an examination by doctor.
It is normal for the fever to wax & wane.
