Customer Question

My 6 week old son was asleep on my husbands chests while he was laying in bed, and he dozed off and our son rolled off our bed. He let out one small cry and then seemed completely fine when we picked him up. We held him for a while trying to keep him awake and he continued to seem normal. We don't see any bruises or swelling, but about 2 hours after the fall he did throw up. I don't know if this has anything to do with fall because he occasionally throws up and had also thrown up earlier that night before the fall. We are freaking out. Is there anything we should look for or should we take him to be seen.

Hi, just observe him well, taking turns remaining awake. Please report to ER if he is too much drowsy, crying or has repeated vomiting or fits.

Mostly babies do not develop any serious complications after such minor bumps on head due to soft skull, open sutures etc.

Is it safe to let him sleep with us monitoring?
Expert:  Dr. Yogindra Vasavada replied 10 months ago.

Yes but wake him earlier than usual feed time.
