Customer Question

My son is 4 months old and has his first cold. He has been to the pediatrician twice and lungs are clear, CBC is normal just showing elevated WBC indicative of a virus. He has had fevers as high as 101.4 controlled with Tylenol, which are gone now. My major concern and reason for this post is he has lost his voice with trying to make higher pitched noises, coos, and cries. He doesn't make a sound when he tries. If it is a cry, it just sounds like a whisper, and when he tries to baby talk, he doesn't make a sound - again, mainly with high-pitch sounds. The pediatrician didn't seem concerned when he was seen in the office, but that was days ago. Is this still normal and when should I be concerned? He is still congested, but that is improving, his cough is loosening and his nose is getting less stuffy. Thank you in advance for your help with this.

This can cause change in sound.

This is associated with with upper respiratory tract infection.

However, I would advise to get an examination by doctor again.
