Hello !

The Augmentin suspension 400mg/5ml may be prescribed at does of 45 mg per kg per day > divided every 12 hours...

19 pounds would equal 8.6 kg ...

so at 45 mg /kg that would be ... 388mg/day which would be close to 400mg per day..

The appropriate dose for weight should be 2.5 ml every 112 hour hour ( not 24.5 ml every 12 hour )

So 1/2 teaspoon equals 2.5 ml...

SO dose for weight for ear infection should be 2.5 ml ( or 1/2 teaspoon every 12 hour ) as the appropriate dose for weight

I hope that this information is helpful..
