Customer Question

My 7 year old had a problem with staying dry years ago. She has been dry for at least a year now. Last night she wet the bed for the first time in forever. Is this a cause for concern or is it normal for accident to happen once in a while?

Greetings,

Thank you for your question.

I am Dr. Su S. and I will try my best to help you.

Bed wetting once in a while can be an accident.

She might have taken more fluid or was very tired and slept very deeply.

Sometimes infection can be a cause.

Just watch.

If it repeats, urine test can be taken.

It is not concerning.

The only other time she had an accident was a few weeks ago and that was because we were driving and couldn't find a bathroom in time. She said she had to pee but by the time we found a bathroom it was too late. And she didn't empty her bladder all the way but half came out. She said she couldn't hold it. I told her to use the restroom before we left and she didnt. So now we make sure we don't leave unless she uses the bathroom. That's not concerning either is it? Since she knew she had to go and just couldn't wait...

Children often do these kind of activities.

Sometimes they are busy with playing and do such accident.

Do not show any concern in front of her.

Just be alert and remind her to go to bathroom at proper time.
