Have Pediatric Questions? Ask a Pediatrician.
Greetings,Thank you for your question.I am Dr. Su S. and I will try my best to help you.
When did he take those?
Does he have any symptom now?
Please write the composition as the ingredients vary.
Does it contain 600 or 400 IU of vitamin D3?
Did he take all at a time?
Thank you for the input.Higher doses of vitamin B & C are usually well tolerated & excreted from body easily.Fat soluble ones like vitamin A & D can cause problem sometimes. There can be fatigue, sleepiness, nausea, vomiting, headache etc. However, in case of deficiency states, those vitamins are given in single large doses of thousands of units without any problem.
Most of the such vitamins contain 400-600 IU of vitamin D & about 1200-1500 IU of vitamin A.
Though the total is high but it is not very high. Please do not keep the vitamin at home now till his doctor suggests.
As he is not having any symptom, I hope he will be fine.
