I am a school psychologist working with a 4th grade female.

Customer Question

Hi, I am a school psychologist working with a 4th grade female. She has low average everything: cognitive, language, fine motor (SS=85) but some differences in her cognitive processes plus academic difficulties that led to her placement in special education under Specific Learning Disability. She was also recently diagnosed with ADHD, and has lot of problems with beginning and completing tasks. My concern is that no matter what area we screen her reading skills into, no matter how low we take her, she tests at about the same reading fluency for each grade level, including her own (4th grade). It would seem she is as fluent at reading end of kindergarten reading passages as she is at reading beginning 4th grade level. Any suggestions about what might be the problem with her reading?
