My son is 10 years old and has some swelling on s penis on

Customer Question

My son is 10 years old and has some swelling on his penis on one side above the head. He is circumsized. I have been reading about balantis but that seems to effect uncircumsized boys. It's not itchy or painful.
He plays basketball and has had lots of games this weekend. Also, he went swimming in the pool today, so maybe it's just irritation?

Hello, sorry about this issue. If there is no difficulty with peeing, the swelling could be old blood clot from an injury. Please make him sit in warm and cold water tub alternately few minutes at bath time. If not relieved, please consult a pediatric urology surgeon.

He doesn't have an old blood clot from an injury, so I'm not sure why you are mentioning that? Could it just be rubbing and irritation from playing basketball all weekend?

If the skin over swelling is normal and free from it, then rubbing, irritation etc are not the issue. Blunt trauma can cause blood collection or tissue swelling
