My daughter is 6 years old and we have noticed white spots

Resolved Question:

My daughter is 6 years old and we have noticed white spots or discoloration on her forehead and they seem to be getting worse. What can this be? Her Aunt was recently diagnosed with I believe it's vitiligo?? Do you think this might be the same thing? Should I take her to the dermatologist or just have her regular pediatrician check her out?

Hello from JA
Great question.

Yes it can be vitiligo.
It can be a type of fungal infection.

It can be a focal depigmentation that is not vitaligo.

No take here to the dermatologist....this gets a faster diagnosis.

OK. If you have further questions or details, use reply to expert.

Otherwise please choose a positive rating . But, still come back if you need to…think of something later, etc. Bonuses are appreciated.
