PediatricMD :

Hello & welcome to Just Answer!

If you have any questions after reading my answer, be sure to let me know.

PediatricMD :

A rash that is persisting for 3 weeks even after application of OTC creams certainly

PediatricMD :

does require to be evaluated by a medical professional

PediatricMD :

I would be concerned about the possibility of severe eczema

PediatricMD :

, contact dermatitis needs to be excluded

PediatricMD :

and topical steroids / anti fungals (as needed) of high potency may need to be used to help clear the rash

Customer:

she has an appoiment thursday

PediatricMD :

Ok

PediatricMD :

In that case I would recommend waiting since there is not much that we can give for a 4 month old child

PediatricMD :

avoid using strong detergents, soaps, creams etc. for the body

PediatricMD :

You have already rated poor service even before the chat is completed :(

Customer:

sorry

PediatricMD :

If there are any questions that I can help you with, I would be happy to assist

PediatricMD :

No problems

Customer:

i tried the aquahor cream

PediatricMD :

I know, but the allergy / contact dermatitis may be related to something else that you may be routinely using,

PediatricMD :

These are mild products that may be of limited benefit in this situation,

PediatricMD :

with high potency products being needed (prescription only) for immediate relief of symptoms

PediatricMD :

Here are a few tips that may help in reducing the allergies,

Customer:

oh i think i waited too long

PediatricMD :

PediatricMD :

It happens

Customer:

i wish i did not try the aquahor

Customer:

for so long

PediatricMD :

I know, hindsight is 20/20 but not to worry,

PediatricMD :

its nothing permanent or long term

Customer:

i just talked to the doctor on the phone

PediatricMD :

Ok

Customer:

anyway there are products for a 4 month year old

Customer:

i will take her thursday

PediatricMD :

Yes, there are products, but only a doctor can prescribe them

PediatricMD :

Did you read the link that I sent

PediatricMD :

?

Customer:

yes

PediatricMD :

Ok

PediatricMD :

Is there anything else that I can help you with ?

Customer:

nope

PediatricMD :

Are you using formula ?

Customer:

i was just worried

Customer:

yes

Customer:

we switched from enfamil now, but we started with simalic

Customer:

we use breast milk & enfamil

Customer:

now

Customer:

it seemed to help a little

PediatricMD :

Ok, since formula can be a reason for allergies too

PediatricMD :

Alright

PediatricMD :

well let me know if there are any questions after the doctors visit,

PediatricMD :

And if possible please consider changing your feedback too :)

Customer:

okay

PediatricMD :

All the best!

Customer:

i will

Customer:

to good

Customer:

is that okay

Customer:

i really upset with myself

Customer:

have a good day

PediatricMD :

I understand your concern

PediatricMD :

Generally speaking any illness that persists beyond 3-7 days should be evaluated by a doctor in a small baby

PediatricMD :

that is a thumb rule ...

PediatricMD :

so take care the next time

PediatricMD :

Bye

Customer:

thank you
