My son is 3... He has had about 4 throat infections sinceDecember with fevers running from100 to104.. Lately, when we walk to the car from the store he tells meHe is tired. He has been sick the pastWeek with blisters in his throat. He keepsComplaining of headaches andHas vomited. He says his legs hurt too. He gets worse in the eveningsAnd he is a kid who doesn't complain. I don't know that he has lost weight but he barely eats. Last time we had him checked for infection, December, WBC was good. Does any of this indicate luekemia or any typeOf cancer? I am worried sick. Please be honest.
Greetings,When was he last seen by doctor? What treatment did he receive during 4 episodes? Did he have any other test after December? Is there any significant past illness?Regards.
No significant past illness... Pedi looked at his throat Monday but that was all... I'm just so concerned about the headaches and leg aches.
Thank you for the input.Tiredness, loss of appetite, blisters, muscle pain in the head, legs can be from viral infection. Repeated infection can cause anemia and tiredness. Leukemia, or blood cancer does not have typical symptoms. It can appear as normal illness. His last blood count was normal, it was about 6 months before. After that he had repeated throat infection. Children can have repeated throat infection. It is not unusual to have repeated infection without any cause. However, when last tests were 6 month back, you can ask his doctor to repeat the tests. Throat swab test, repeat blood tests can rule out leukemia. You can have a referral for a pediatric ENT doctor to have a look for tonsils.
