mucinex, ibuprofen for sore throat,

Pediatrician :

it is likely that he has developed a super added infection

Customer :

needs to see dr?

Pediatrician :

blood test ( total and differential count) would be helpful to find out if it ios bacterial or viral.

Pediatrician :

If it is viral, it would subside in 4-5 days

Pediatrician :

If it is bacterial, then he may need a course of antibiotics

Pediatrician :

Strep throat should also be ruled out

Pediatrician :

Continue giving ibuprofen every 8 hours

Pediatrician :

saline drops if there is nasal stuffiness

Pediatrician :

Infection will suppress appetite. Once the infection is cured, he will regain his normal appetite

Pediatrician :

Also try to keep him well hydrated by giving enough fluids
