a baby born to a mother with exposure to trichinosis but had not been treated because having no symptoms....should the mother avoid breastfeeding anyway? If the newborn was exposed to trichinosis, would she be treated only if she had any symptoms?
Hello, It is safe for the infant to breast feed as long as the medications Mom is receiving are safe. The infant does not require treatment if s/he is asymptomatic.
