I broke out into a rash and went to the doctor the doctor diagnosed me as having shingles. I took the medication and the symptoms have gone and only have scare areas where it was and is healing. My son has broken out now but it is in more individual bumps that look like chicken pox total of about 10 bumps maybe 15 at the most. It does not look like the patches of blisters that I had. Is this related to my outbreak or something else. It seems to ironic that it isnt related to my shingles outbreak.

Greetings,You can pass shingles virus to other persons who did not have chicken pox. This can occur when a person comes in contact with open sores of shingles or from fluid of the blisters of rash. However they will develop chicken pox not shingles. He should have an examination by his doctor. If you have any query, please feel free to ask. It will be my privilege to assist you.Regards.
I already had this information by reading about shingles but that answer didn't help me determine what he might have.
From your history, the rash is likely to be chicken pox. As I mentioned earlier, after exposure to shingles, chicken can develop. Supportive managements are usually given. For children under 12 years, we do not usually prescribe antiviral medicine, unless it is required. But it should started within 24 hours. So, for confirmation, I told you to take to doctor.
