Thank you for the input,

Pale stool can be due to dietary change. As she took milk product more that can be the factor. Avoid milk product for a few days. Watch her stool. If it is persistently pale stool and blood test should be taken to rule out liver and gall bladder issue. Stool can be pale when there is lack of bile. Bile secreted from the liver is stored in gall bladder to be released when food enters the gut or intestine. It gives the stool its normal color.

Any query, please feel free to ask.
It will be my privilege to assist you.

surely she would be showing other signs if there was a problem with liver etc?

Expert:  Dr. Su S. replied 5 years ago.
Yellow color of eyes, skin, Dark yellow urine, abdominal pain, less appetite etc. are common symptoms of liver and gall bladder disease. When she does not have any such symptoms, it can be due to dietary factor. However we should be careful.

Hi how long do you think it should take to get back to normal if it is diet??
Expert:  Louise Sivak, M.D. replied 5 years ago.
1-2 days.
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
do you think it is the diet?
Expert:  Louise Sivak, M.D. replied 5 years ago.
That is the most likely without other signs. If pale stools persist beyond 1-2 days or abdominal pain, vomiting, fever or other symptoms / signs develops then your daughter should be examined in person by her pediatrician and basic blood tests done to check blood count, liver and kidney functions.
