I have a 22 year old son living with us. He had developmental delay and has autistic spectrum problems. When he was young he had lot of visual, auditory, processing problem. With therapy he is doing much better and graduated from college this year. The problem is he is very smart, but can't do anything properly. For example he does not know how to organize or put files/things in alphabetical sequence. He talk well but can't do basic things right, can't multitask, can’t follow directions. I don't know whether we are spoiling him or not. How do I make him more independent ? He can't drive (depth perception/processing problems). If you talk to him, you will not notice any problems. He can get a job but can't keep it (not following directions). What do we do ? Where do we go for help ?
