Customer Question

We have an almost 6yr old son who has a wicked temper. If he does not get what he wants, such as his choice of story, and we explain we expect him to act in a manner that does not include screaming, kicking, crying..... "not how we behave", acceptable, etc.... we know the intelligent reasonable responses and none of them work. Taking things away, priveledges such as tv or electronics, toys, etc does not effect him. Once he is in his "fit" there is absolutely no reaching him. He is out of control completely. He says he cannot stop himself. these fits last at least 30 mins. he is exhausted afterwards. a lot of it seems to be about control. what is scary to me is he will not respond to anything. Not even a shower to try to distract him. or tickling. we have tried everything we can think of on all ranges.... trying to put him in his room or ignore him does not work either. And we do not do this in our home. is a family counselor next?
