Hello and thank you for consulting JA,

The ideal is one year of age. You should start introducing the cup at 9 months. A one year old only needs 4 servings of milk (a serving is 4 ounces). Most babies are ready to give up the bottle around this time. If you miss this opportunity, they become too dependent on bottle and it is very hard to wean from bottle the older they get.
