Teenage girl 16 Need summer activities for a troubled young

This answer was rated:

Teenage girl: 16: Need summer activities for a troubled young woman.I am the father of a moody 16 year old daughter just finishing sophomore year of high school. She has low self-esteem, will often not go to school on days when she feels she will be teased or hazed. She needs some type of camp or program for the summer. She is on the varsity basketball team but doing JUST sports this summer is not enough. She is already doing psychotherapy.
Any ideas? thanks
Hello and Thank You for using Just Answer. I am sorry to hear about the problems that you are having with your daughter. At 16, she should be able to get a job somewhere like a teen clothing store but she needs to start looking now. Having her own money would really give her an incentive to do something more positive and teach her responsibility. If the job avenue will not work, maybe she can volunteer with children at a sports camps or see if she can get paid there as well since she likes basketball. On the other hand, maybe you can find a basketball camp in your area that she can attend for a few weeks. Hope this helps. If you need more advice, just ask. Have a great day!!!Laughing
