My 14 month old son has mucus developing in his eye, it gets to the point that when he wakes up in the morning or from a nap his eye is closed shut because of the mucus. Also, under his eye is red and a bit swollen, could he have an infection. This problem just started sunday afternoon.
pink eye. take him in to get medicine.

I took him to a minute clinic yesterday, and the physician said he didn't think it was pink eye because the white of his eye isn't red. With pink eye, does that matter? Should I take him to a peditrician or a child doctor instead?
take him to a pediatrician. the color of the eye does not matter.
