Resolved Question:

I have a 14 1/2 daughter who for 2 years (during school year) scratches her face until she had scabs on her otherwise beautiful face. I'm at the end of my rope, how do I get her to change that behavior? We realise that its nerves, she does it when sh'es doing homework or in class. I've tried positive reinforcement to no avail. Is this a lost cause? Help.

Good Morning,

Underlying anxiety problems are highly treatable both with medication as well as cognitive behavioral therapy and hypnotherapy. You really want to have her evaluated by a professional and possibly rule out Dermatillomania.
