Has to play a sport??? Why does he have to play a sport? If he wants to then let him. Encourage him in whatever endeavors he chooses.

His grades are slipping and i rather he be involved in after school activities

instead of hanging at home.

Expert:  Dr. G. replied 6 years ago.
No fun until the grades come up. School needs to be a priority so that means homework and study time before and extracurricular activities. He stays home and works on school work until his grades improve and then he can join a sport. Can't put the cart before the horse here. Work before fun otherwise where would his motivation be to do his work if he is allowed to do all the fun things he wants.
