Customer Question

Dear dr.,
I slipped and fell on clothes in my room while I was walking/cleaning. I had my hands full and fell on my behind. It was so jarring that my neck and shoulders felt tension. I am very scared I may have hurt something. I don't have immediate pain and the only major thing i am experiencing now os some tension in my neck and shoukder it has been 10 minutes. I am just very worried. If.something was wrong, would I have immediate pain?
Should I be worried or can I have a fall like this and be OK? I am concerned about the weight too when I fell. I am 160 pounds and that's a lot to fall on.
Thank you,
Elizabeth

This is Dr. David

you should ice your bottom where you fell

you would have immediate pain if something was wrong.

most of our bottoms are well cushioned to help protect us from falls like this.

anxiety and worry can cause tension in your neck and shoulders.

if you have pain in your butt or buttocks area, you should see a doctor and get an xray of your sacral bone

but I bet your bone is fine and you will be fine

let me know if you have questions.
