In Florida, is it required to have a chest X-ray before surgery? My 50 yr old mother had her acl repaired with many pins and many tears.

My mom had surgery then 12 months had a chest X-ray and found stage 4 lung cancer. I read on the Internet, most hospitals, etc require a chest X-ray before surgery. If that is true we may have caught it early enough to help her. So my question is, do all or just certain hospital have a pre-surgical X-ray requirement?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for replying.
A chest x ray is part of standard pre operative workup and almost all facilities require it to be done before a patient is taken up for surgery.
