I just had my 6 month on a fibroadenoma in my right breast.

Customer Question

I just had my 6 month ultrasound follow up on a fibroadenoma in my right breast. In July I had a biopsy done reporting that it was benign. Here is my question. Can these results change? It measures at 3.5x 3.6x 2.6cm how big is this? Report states that it is macrolobulated. It is slight heterogeneous with small anechoic areas. The mass is vascular. My doctor is on vacation. Is it time to get this sucker out?

Hello and welcome I'm Dr Chip

Just one question first--the biopsy was on a different lesion?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
No, it was on the same one.

But it wasn't totally removed? Or was this a fine needle biopsy?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
No it was not removed it was a fine needle biopsy. The Dr said it was a benign fibroadenoma and that we would follow up in six months. Now it is slightly larger.

OK--sorry for the questions but I needed to be clear about this

As for size, it's about an inch in diameter

In my opinion it's time to remove the entire lesion

Most likely it's totally benign but with it's size and the vascularity and the anechoic areas I can't say 100% it isn't malignant
