Hi there ...

Thank you for the question ...

Often cold nodules in thyroid appear as hole or defect in scan , with low density this is called hypo-dense lesions .

As compared to hot nodules , cold nodules that appear as hypo-dense area in scan need evaluation to rule out malignancy .

Regards .

Please leave positive feedback for me .

Thanks .

I am a different expert.

Was the hypodense lesion see on an ultrasound of the thyroid this time around?

I presume it was seen on the ultrasound in which case it could be a cystic lesion in the thyroid i.e. a fluid filled bubble in the thyroid gland.

Please let me know.
