Customer Question

I represent a client whose wife died in 2003. The medical records I have are not definitive as to whether she died of ovarian cancer however she was a daily user of baby powder-Johnson & Johnson. I am aware of the fact that talc may have entered her system. While the medical records does not show the presence of talc her death certificate shows the following as the reason: 1. Liver Failure 2. Ovarion Cancer. Questions: Is there any way to detect the presence of talc if the body is exhumed?
2. Is the only way to determine whether talc was in her body other then pathology reports i.e. her symptoms etc. Thank you for your assistance

Thanks for this question

1)not that I am aware of. Plus, it would be impossible to prove cause and effect

2)that is correct. You would need some kind of evidence before her death that it is related

Besides pathology report what evidence before death would show the relationship?
Expert:  DocPhilMD replied 7 months ago.

You would need to identify symptoms related to talc exposure

Unfortunately, they are very non specific
