Customer Question

Is there any way I can send you three chest xrays to look at?

These are off the record chest x-rays. Had a dry cough for a couple of months, but no fever, don't really feel bad. Very slightly short of breath. Smoked for 24 years, quit 13 years ago.

The elevated diaphragm is new, have never had that.

This is Dr. David

yes, I would be happy to look at your chest xrays.

it can be very normal and common to have elevation of your right diaphram since your liver is below your right diaphram

chest xrays are very old technology.

if you are overweight, this can put more pressure on your liver and can push your right diaphragm up.

are you overweight?

is it the right diaphram which is elevated?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

Yes, it is the right hemidiaphragm, and it is definitely a new development. I am not so much concerned about it by itself, but with the 2-3 months of dry cough and slight dyspnea I guess I am getting a little concerned. On the initial question page I had a way to send you attachments. The reply box here only allows me to link images from a urn. These images are on my tablet, they are not online. I thought I had sent them to you the other night.

Sorry, I forgot to answer the weight question. I am 5'9" and 184 pounds

many things can cause dry cough and slight dyspnea.

you might have to use a computer to upload images from a computer using a browser

here are instructions to upload images

type a word in the textbox and highlight it

then select the "chain" icon above the textbox or the paper clip icon to upload a jpg

this opens a window where you can click next to the text box to select the jpg or pdf file on your computer to upload into JustAnswer

I am not too worried about an elevated right hemidiaphram.

usually it is due to your liver pressing up

you should see a pulmonary lung doctor to get pulmonary function test if you are having cough and dyspnea to check for things like asthma,

I hope you don't smoke.
