Customer Question

I'm 30. I have no abnormal bleeding or pain or anything. I have had a clear pap since forever and had a vaginal ultrasound 9 months ago which was fine. What are my chances of cervical cancer? When I feel my cervix I can feel one side of the hole there
that is kind of ridgy or bumpy. Smooth but I can feel a few ridges or bumps. Worried about cancer.

This is Dr. David

it sounds like you are letting your anxiety and worries get out of control here with worry.

there are fewer and fewer cases of cervical cancer in the USA.

cervical cancer is a rare cancer.

your prior paps are all normal.

you are probably feeling normal contours of your cervix.

your chances of cervical cancer are very very small, like one in 100,000 chances.

Ok. I didn't know that.
I know I'm anxious. I was just wondering if cervical cancer could go undetected or develop despite the clean paps? Also, how would I know if I have HPV?
Expert:  Dr. David replied 1 year ago.

no, cervical cancer would not go undetected despite clean paps.

pap smears is THE way to detect early cervical cancer. the pap smears would be able to tell HPV virus

there is no way you could have cervical cancer or HPV since you are going for regular pap smears.

Ok so the bumpy edge on the opening of my cervix could just be cysts or normal anatomy? Not a tumor?
Expert:  Dr. David replied 1 year ago.

definitely not tumor

most likely normal anatomy

Dr David is it normal to have a 1cm or so dilated cervix and not pregant?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I can feel my cervix opening and it's open enough for my finger tip
Expert:  Dr. David replied 1 year ago.

you need to stop feeling your cervix with your finger

you are going to introduce bacteria up into your uterus and cause a bad infection.

Is if normal to feel open? I have one child.
Expert:  Dr. David replied 1 year ago.

yes, it can be normal to feel open.
