This is Dr. David

your anxiety is so bad about worry about your mouth.

I'm not sure if I can help you.

you keep asking the same questions over and over and over

you don't have a cancer or autoimmune disease

we are here to answer medical questions, not chat all day long.

you often don't ask questions, but you just post your anxiety and worries online

it can be very frustrating to chat all day long with you with you not willing to see your own doctors, you are too scared to see your own doctors, your anxiety spikes up so bad before you even see your dentist.

and you continue to smoke and not exercise despite what I say.

so taking your questions overall isn't helping you

you continue to have anxiety disorder and worries

you continue to smoke and not eat healthy.

I tell you to try a bite guard at night time and you don't do that.

I know and I apologize for that, I'm not sure why the dentist didn't test me for Sjögren's, and when I woke up this morning on one side of my tongue there was a whiteish little patch and I'm worried that, that is cancer
Expert:  Dr. David replied 1 year ago.

you need special blood test and a lip mucosal biopsy to test for sjorgrens

you don't have oral cancer

oral cancer doesn't pop up 5 days after you see a dentist.

your dentist didn't see any oral cancer.

you want to see your doctor to get blood test and a mucosal biopsy of your lip and mouth by an oral surgeon or ENT doctor to check for sjorgren's, that is fine. but don't keep worrying about this until you see your doctor.

and I bet you a million dollars that your testing for sjorgens is going to be negative.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I just wish there was something you could say that would totally reassure me that this isn't cancer or Sjögren's
Expert:  Dr. David replied 1 year ago.

no there obviously nothing I can say,

because I have been saying these things for months now and you still worry

it is not my job to control your anxieties.

you need to learn techniques to decrease your anxieties.

I answer medical questions here.

I tell you to exercise to help decrease your anxiety and you don't

you need to practice cognitive behavioral therapy to help decrease anxiety and you don't do that.

you are not willing to help yourself.

Right now my worry and focus is on what's going on with my mouth, why when I wake up in the morning do I have such a bad taste in my mouth, why when I have been drinking a lot of water, using biotene, sucking on lemon drops, chewing gum is my mouth still dry and my tongue inflamed
Expert:  Dr. David replied 1 year ago.

stop using listerine in the morning.

stop the gum and the lemon drops

you should be flossing your teeth twice a day and brushing your teeth 3 times a day after meals.

you should be brushing your tongue as well

you should be increasing how much fruits and vegetables you eat daily

you need to stop smoking. use a nicotine patch.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I stop the listerene about a week ago, being realistic here, you are a cancer doctor so I believe I don't have cancer but not totally convinced about the Sjögren's because all the symptoms I have are related to that
Expert:  Dr. David replied 1 year ago.

then go get tested for it.

there are no rheumatologist on this site who treat autoimmune disorders.

you are still not asking questions, you are posting your anxieties.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
What do you know about Sjögren's? Why do you believe I don't have it? This is a question
Expert:  Dr. David replied 1 year ago.

I know a lot about sjorgrens syndrome

it is a rare autoimmune condition where your body makes antibodies which attacks your mucosal linings

like patient have dry eyes and dry mouth

you don't have symptoms of dry eye.

you take medications which can cause dry mouth.

you are overly sensitive to small symptoms and your anxiety magnifies small symptoms you are having.

I don't think you have sjorgrens syndrome

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
My eyes are dry when I wake up every morning
Expert:  Dr. David replied 1 year ago.

sjorgrens cause dry eyes all the time, not just when you wake up.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Could this just be from not going to the dentist in years and getting routine cleaning, I have gingivitis, I may have gum disease, and the front teeth, the bottoms ones in particular are sore and the gums are reseeding and it feels like there is something in the gums
Expert:  Dr. David replied 1 year ago.

yes, I have told you bacteria in your teeth and bad teeth can cause dry mouth and inflammation of your tongue

I told you to ask your dentist about peridex antibiotic mouth rinse.

but you didn't do that.

and you are not flossing and brushing enough.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
How do you know if you have dry eyes? And you said that Sjögren's is a RARE auto immune disease? Have you seen patients with it?
Expert:  Dr. David replied 1 year ago.

yes, I have seen patients with sjorgrens

you would know if you have dry eyes

they would be painful and sratchy and raw and the eye lids would be inflamed.

you are not reporting these symptoms.

you don't have sjrogrens syndrome.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Ok so I just read all things that could cause dry mouth and these are the ones that freaked me out: Diabetes, HIV/AIDS, and Sjögren's, can you just please shed some light on these and then I won't ask a million questions any more?
Expert:  Dr. David replied 1 year ago.

you could have diabetes. you have obesity

go see your doctor to get testing for diabeties.

you don't have HIV or sjorgresn.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Can you have bone cancer under your gums? And the patients that you have seen with Sjögren's, what are they like? What are there symptoms?
Expert:  Dr. David replied 1 year ago.

you don't have bone cancer in your gums.

the patients with sjorgrens have dry eyes, inflamed eye and nose and mouth mucosa.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The outside of the nose or inside because my sinuses are always inflamed when I go to the doctors
Expert:  Dr. David replied 1 year ago.

then go get testing for sjorgrens.

but it will be negative.

you are not asking questions. you are just posting your worries.
