When I push the switch forward for high beams all lights

When I push the switch forward for high beams all lights turn off. and no high beams light up
JA: Have you checked the bulbs and fuses?
Customer: yes
JA: What is the model/year of your Oldsmobile?
Customer: 2000
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes, and I checked all fuses and relays...pulled switch towards me and they light up but it doesn't latch that way
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

ok thanks.
you will have to access the headlight switch connector at the back of it.
flash the high beams and monitor the light green wire coming out of it. this wire will also connect into 2 pink wires.
this is a ground operated wire which operates the high beams.
if you are getting a ground signal out of the switch to that wire when pulling back but not when pushing forward than the switch is faulty and will require replacing.
i have included a wiring diagram for you as an attachment.
