I have a 1989 olds 98 with 3800 fwd regency 96000 miles. I accidently pulled the ecm fuse out while the engine was running. the motor quit , after i replaced the fuse now the engine runs rough has less power and lousy mileage. I tried disconecting the battery to reset it but still runs but not as usual. When in drive at a stop it vibrates and wants to die. what can I do, did i blow up the computer or something like that? Any input would be great thank you.

Hello! Welcome to justanswer! If you pulled the ECM fuse and this happened, you ruined the ECM. Its not an expensive job to get a rebuilt one installed. If you want to try to do the job yourself, let me know.
The motor runs like you took off a spark plug wire. If the ecm needs changing , what is involved and how much do you think it might be? thank you.
I understand. It takes 1 hour of work and about $170 in parts for a rebuilt computer. Some shops may charge to diagnose it but if you tell them what you did, testing wont be needed. You want a shop to do it because theres a chip in your computer that has to be switched over to the new one.
