2001 olds alero: battery dead..jump start..nothing.....bad battery

Resolved Question:

2001 olds alero ... battery lights no nothing.....when we jump start it... still nothing... not even lights.....can this just be a bad battery that wont take a jump.. we jumped directly on the wires after trying the post jump.?? thank you

If the batteries completely dead and has a short in it ,Then replace the battery first because it's very difficult to jumpstart a completely faulty battery , Check the battery cable connections both at the battery and where they attach to the engine ,Using a test light checked to see if you have power at the fuses in the under hood fuse box , Three possible that we just have a faulty battery cable or one of the battery cable ends are defective
