Hello and thank you for using JustAnswer. My name is XXXXX XXXXX X will do my best to help you with your Oldsmobile problem. If the starter just clicks, this indicates that the battery is bad. If the engine will not crank over even with the jumper cables or battery charger connected, the battery is so low that it cannot be boosted. The battery will have to be replaced. After replacing the battery, attempt to start the engine. If the engine starts and stalls, perform the relearn procedure below. If you continue to have problems with the engine starting, then stalling after performing the relearn, then the ignition lock cylinder will have to be replaced (it houses the Passlock security sensor).Relearn Procedure 1. Attempt to the start vehicle. The vehicle will start and then stall. 2. Leave the ignition on until the Theft telltale turns off in approximately 10 minutes. 3. Turn the ignition off. 4. Restart the vehicle. The vehicle will start and on this attempt. The password XXXXX XXXXX learned.
