2002 Olds Bravada: rear suspension..blows..bags up when engine starts

This answer was rated:

2002 Olds Bravada rear suspension (air bags) both loose air. Had replaced and new would lose air overnight, replaced and still have the problem. Pump usually blows bags up when engine starts but when shut down bags gradually deflate. Any suggestions?

Bluegorilla :

Hello, I'm Cam. Please include all the details about your issue so I can accurately advise you. I cannot see your vehicle so please be detailed.

Bluegorilla :

THere are only a couple more options then. THe lines to the bags may be leaking or the exahust valve in the compressor.

Bluegorilla :

CAn you get a spray bottle with soapy water and see if there are bubble forming when you spray the area down.

Customer:

Only tried air bags, all three sets we have tried have air bubbles around air bag where bonded together. Hard to believe six different bags are bad.

Bluegorilla :

Were they all GM or aftermarket?

Customer:

Aftermarket

Bluegorilla :

Ok that may be part of the problem then. WHile they say these are made to the same specs, the truth is that they cannot be and still be cheaper.

Customer:

Would I be better returning air bags and converting to springs?

Bluegorilla :

I some cases yes, it will save the issues, but then if it issetup for the bags, then get a quality set. Now I should point out that even GM bags will leak down over time.

Customer:

Ok, Thanks
