2002 Oldsmobile Alero: overheating..No heat and passenger side

This answer was rated:

2002 Oldsmobile Alero overheating and right front floor board is wet. No heat and passenger side makes a thumping sound. What could this be?

Hello & Welcome to JA,

Check the cooling system for level of coolant. Front floor wet could indicate a leaking heater core.

Customer: replied 5 years ago.
But would the heater core cause it to overheat as well?
The heater core is heated by coolant from the engine. If this leaks the engine does not have sufficient coolant.
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
Could it be the motor head?
If the engine overheats from low coolant yes, the motor head could be ruined.
