What sort of phone line service do you have?
- If landline/POTS/'analog' phone line service, call them (or contact them by email?) and inquire what's up with the line problem (for that is likely what it is, and if so, it's in their area of responsibility.)
- If digital/VoIP/Vonage/etc. phone service, look at the phone 'box' or network box, and make sure the indicator lights are in the right state. If they aren't, then power Off the network box. Wait 5 minutes. Power On the network box again, see if it initializes and if the phone / fax now works.
