Can you tell me a bit more about the problem please:1) Is this a dedicated fax line, or a shared voice/fax line?2) Is this a landline from the local phone/cable company, or a VOIP service (vonage/magicjack/etc)3) Do you have dsl service on the same line?
4) Any errors when you try to receive?
What happens when someone tries to send you a fax?Does it ring, does anything show on the canon display?
Okay that indicates that it isn't even detecting an incoming call event.
First, please double check that the telephone line cord from the wall jack to the printer is plugged into the #1 (line) port, and not into the #2 tel/ext port.
