My Canon Scanner DR2020U is not being recognised by my computer. Only a recent problem, as has worked satisfactorily (at low load) for 18 months. I just noticed it wasn’t connecting for some unknown reason.
I have just downloaded and re-installed driver from Canon website, but still get message “Scanner is not found. Check the cable.” Also this device did not – and still does not – appear among the devices recognised on my computer control panel. (Operating system Windows 8.1)
I have checked two cables – both work OK with my old Canon copier/printer – but not with the DR2020U. Doesn’t seem to be a connection problem!
Power is on to scanner and when I press START button LED shows “Scan First’ for a few minutes before going off.

Can you plug it into a different USB port on the computer.

Is it then detected and you can scan?
